Thanks to my wonderful girlfriend, I got to go to game 1 of the 2010 world series. It was crazy fun. We sat in the bleacher seats by center/left field and we almost caught Edgar Renteria’s home run! Here is a modified screenshot of the broadcast for some proof. Click on the picture to make it bigger.

…”Hit in the sea of orange”  – fox sports announcer.

It was so crazy sitting in the bleachers and seeing that pop up just soar into the sky and follow a perfect flight path straight to my face. It’s like looking into the night sky hoping to see a shooting star by looking at just the right place and bam! A perfect shooting star fills your whole range of vision perfectly……or more like your friend saw it and you happened to just see a glimpse of it…but oh what a glimpse it was……

We were literally 2 rows back.  Click on the picture to make it bigger and see it more clearly (or as clearly as you can). You can make out Kamilia’s panda hat. And her orange arms are straight up while i’m just staring in shock and awe.

Right when it was hit, Kami actually started yelling at me to put on the glove. I reacted promptly and put my glove hand out and reached to catch it. For a split second, I felt my heart stop as I realized it was a reality that not only is it gonna be a home run, but I actually might catch this thing. As it neared about 20 feet away from us, I knew it was just  a weeeeee too short and I wasn’t going to catch it. I think I started to take my glove off so I could start to cheer and raise my hand, that’s why Kami’s hands are raised and i’m just sitting there in the picture and look like a lil white smear. But it was soooo awesome!

I suppose I could’ve grabbed the ball if I had lept over the people in front of me. They kinda tried to dive for the ball but mostly spilled beer all over themselves and didn’t move much. The next row up looked liked a goal line fumble in a football game. It was madness. I don’t even know who got the ball, I believe it fell to the walk way to the concession area.

So who’s got that home run ball?

GO GIANTS! !
